Ensure your passport is valid for the duration of your intended stay (consider the duration that would take for visa issuance)

A letter of invitation from a Canadian host (if applicable)
Proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay
A clean medical exam and adherence to security requirements (if applicable)
Processing times can vary depending on the country of the applicant, so apply well in advance.
Things to Consider:
Initiate the extension process well before your current visa expires (you cannot extend your visa if it has already expired)
Provide a valid reason for the extension, such as ongoing travel plans, family visits, or other special circumstances
Demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to support your extended stay
Extensions are generally granted for tourism or family visits; business visitors may need to submit a new application
Things to Consider:
The Super Visa is for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents
It's a multiple-entry temporary resident visa (TRV), that is valid for up to 10 years (the period of authorized stay is 5 years for each entry)
The host in Canada (child or grandchild) must meet specific income requirements to be eligible to invite you and must provide a Letter of Invitation
Applicant should be medically admissible (must submit proof of immigration medical exam)
Comprehensive medical insurance of one full year is mandatory for the Super Visa application, ensuring that your health needs are covered during your stay
